All 6th<= /sup> - 12th grade students enrolling for the first time should contact their school principal as soon as possible.  6th - 12th g= rade students who previously registered do not need to register again.

Parents of all students in grades Kindergarten through= 5 will register as follows:

Student activity fees (not including voluntary insurance) for the 2010-2011 school = year are:

OPENING OF SCHOOL SCHEDULE

 

Dr. Mark G. Collins, Superintendent, has announced the following schedule for opening of school for the 2010-2011 school year:

Tuesd= ay, August 17, 2010, 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. - All grade 1 – 12 students are to report to school. Only kindergarten students who have not preregiste= red should attend.  Buses will run= on the a.m. schedule and return students at 10:00 a.m.  Faculty meetings are scheduled in = the afternoon.

 =

Wedne= sday, August 18 - Friday, August 20, 2010 - All students will follow regu= lar class schedules and cafeterias will be open; K-8 schools will observe= a one hour early dismissal/High School  2:08 p.m. dismissal .  All schools will operate on daily schedules as listed in the Student Handbook.  School will r= esume regular schedule Monday, August 23, 2010.

Parents are also reminded that the Board of Educ= ation must enforce the State Law requiring that each student entering school for = the first time in either Kindergarten or first grade, sixth grade and again at ninth grade must have a new physical examination and must be in compliance = with immunization requirements for all preventable diseases prior to the first d= ay of school.  Enrollment will be denied until compliance is satisfied.  Your physician will need to be contacted early and will need your child’s complete health history to insure completing the exam on time= .

 

An Illinois Law states that all children enterin= g kindergarten, second, and sixth grades for the 2010-2011 school year must have a dent= al examination before May 15 of the school year.  Each of these children must present proof of having been examined by a dentist prior to May 15, 2011.

 =

Illinois Law also requ= ires that proof of an eye examination by an optometrist or physician (such as an ophthalmologist) who provides eye examinations be submitted to the school no later than October 15 of the year the child is first enrolled or as require= d by the school for other children.  The examination must be completed within one year prior to the first day of the school year the child enters the Illinois school system for the first time.  The parent of any child= who is unable to obtain an examination must submit a waiver form to the school.=

A summary of the adopted School Board Policy on = pupil discipline will be included in each Student Handbook for distribution at the opening of school.  The handbo= oks and policy are provided for use by the student and parent or guardian.  Extra copies of the discipline pol= icy will also be available by calling the building principal of your child̵= 7;s school.
